The short answer is yes. Lambswool is one of the most sought-after insulating materials due to its ability to provide warmth while still remaining lightweight and comfortable. The natural crimp of lambswool fibres helps insulate your body from cool temperatures by trapping air.

The young sheep provide soft, fine wool that makes for great clothing and home items. While sheep's wool is notorious for its potential itchiness, lambswool is generally softer and less likely to cause skin irritation. Lambswool is a multi-purpose natural fiber that is a favorite among knitters and spinners.

Although Lambswool may be warmer, Merino wool breathes better which allows for more effective core temperature regulation. It's used to make a wider variety of knitwear, you can also layer Merino wool so you're better equipped for variations in weather conditions.

Lambswool is generally warmer than merino and the softness of the fibres allow for spinning a beautiful and incredibly high-quality yarn. The fibre also has a lot more elasticity than older sheep wool, enabling it to keep its shape better. It is, however, courser than merino and tends to be a little itchier.

Clothing made from cashmere is much warmer than the equivalent in sheep wool. Cashmere has a high moisture content and as the humidity changes in the air so does its insulation, making it comfortable in all climates (even warm ones).
