Getting white bumps after a laser treatment? Most people get no major response or irritation when using the Alma Soprano system since it is so gentle on the skin but once in a while someone will get little white bumps a day or so after the treatment (but it only happens to a few people a year and we treat hundreds of people a month). Those bumps are frequently due to the skin glands being over stimulated by the laser which causes localized irritation and inflammation. The bumps look like milia or white heads. the bumps usually resolve themselves in a few days. In rare situations they could be due to an infection and the patient should seek medical treatment if the condition doesn't improve or worsens over several days.

You do not want to scrub the bumps or exfoliate them

and definitely do not pop them open. Doing so may cause scarring. To wash the face use a mild exfoliating acne wash that contains salicylic acid that may help to dry them up. Also you can use an antibiotic cream (like Neosporin). I would suggest a cream versus an ointment that may cause more oiliness. Apply a few times a day. Also try to use makeup which will only cause more clogging of the pores.

If this irritation does occur once it heals then exfoliate your skin daily to help remove any dead skin. Exfoliating daily is great for cleaning the skin well and removing the dead skin that sheds daily on our body. Also apply the antibiotic cream immediately after your next treatment for preventative purposes.
