If you have never tried the legendary Hawaiian Roll Ham and Swiss Sliders, I urge you to make them for your next potluck or picnic.

Ham and cheese sliders on Hawaiian rolls are a delicious and popular dish that's perfect for parties, gatherings, or even a quick and easy meal.

• You make 2 dozen at the same time, so pretty fast to assemble.
• Make them in a 13"x9" Baking dish! This also makes for easy transport.

Can This Recipe Be Halved?

Yes it can. Easily!
•Just use one package of the 12 count Hawaiian rolls (or your favorite dinner rolls).
• Use a 8"x8" or a 9"x9" baking dish.
• Cut the sauce ingredients amounts in half. A little more than half won't hurt them!
• Cook time may be reduced a little, just keep an eye on them.

Can The Sliders Be Made in Advance?

Yes they can!
• Assemble them per the instructions in the recipe, but don't pour the sauce topping over them.
• Cover the baking dish with foil and refrigerate.
• Let them sit out on the counter to warm up about 30 minutes before baking.
• Right before baking, make the sauce topping and pour it over the assembled sliders. Then cover and bake per instructions.

When you have the sliders assembled, cover with foil for the first half of baking. Then uncover for the second half.

Be sure to slice around the rolls before serving so you get nice, clean sliders without the meat getting pulled out!

They are most delicious served warm, but are also good served at room temperature.

Ingredients

  • 24 Hawaiian Dinner Rolls (2 pkgs of 12)
  • 1 lb Thin Sliced Deli Ham, Not maple flavored
  • 1 lb Thin Swiss Cheese Slices
  • ¾ cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 ½ Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tsp Dehydrated Onion (dried minced onion)
  • 2 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1 ½ tsp Poppy Seeds

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350° F.

  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half so you have the bottoms and the tops. Place the bottom halves in a 13"x9" baking dish. They will fit snugly.

  • Layer the ham on the rolls, evenly. You should have 2-3 layers of thinly sliced ham.

  • Layer the Swiss cheese over the ham. You should get 2 layers of the cheese slices.

  • Place the tops on the rolls.

  • In a small saucepan, heat the butter, Worcestershire sauce, dried onion, Dijon, and poppy seeds. When melted, stir well and remove from heat. Spoon over the tops of the rolls, being sure to get the sauce on all of the rolls. Stir as you do this so they all get some of the onion and poppy seeds on them.

  • Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese in the center has melted, and the rolls have turned light golden in color.

  • Slice in between each roll and serve hot or warm.

Notes

Recipe can be halved.
