Fit FAQs
What if I am between sizes?
If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.
Do I need to size up/down to layer?
Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.
Does your clothing run true to size?
Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.
Chest: Measure around the fullest part, keeping the tape under your arms. Waist: Find your natural waistline and measure it comfortably. Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips. Inseam: Measure from the top of your inner leg down to your ankle.
The international shirt size XXL describes the body size "2 times Extra Large". The XXL size includes the collar size 45 and collar size 46, which are common sizes in Germany. Accordingly, the body (chest, waist and shirt length) does not differ for shirts with collar size 45 and 46.
In the survey, white men ages 18 to 25 had, on average, a 41-inch chest, 35-inch waist, 41-inch hips and a 16-inch collar (that is raw neck size -- shirts are generally sized at least a half-inch bigger).
Most American males who are 20 or older and who are at least 5 feet 10.9 inches tall carry a shoe size of 10.5. Men who are shorter than 6 feet 2 inches often wear a size 8 or 9 shoe size, whereas taller men typically don a size 11 or 12.
