Why I Love America (2024)

It seems like all we hear today are the reasons why people should hate America, but friends, I love America and I’m not ashamed of that. So, today, I wanted to write a short post, simply sharing with you why I love America.

Here’s why:

I love America because there really has never been and likely never will be a country as free, prosperous and sought after in world history.

I love America because she is still the hope of poor, afflicted and enslaved around the world. America was and still is a source of refuge. She embodies hope, hope for a better life.

I love America because she always sends aid to countries in need. If a country has experienced a crisis, be it a natural disaster, a terrorist attack or some other crisis, America is always there to help. (How many nations do the same for America?)

I love America because she gives opportunity for innovation, invention and expansion in every field of study and in every industry.

I love America because she is always one of the most generous countries in the world. Yes, she has wealth, but she is more than willing to give to others in need.

I love America because her people love America. Men and women for 250 years have believed so much in her value that they have given their lives to defend her. How many other country’s can claim the same heart and dedication?

I love America because of her beautiful mountains, vast beaches, and her unparalleled land and resources.

I love America because she is the only nation to have gone to war with herself to abolish slavery.

I love America because, in America, people can dream —- and then achieve their dreams.

I love America because she is free and wealthy enough to have fun, to enjoy herself with sports and movies and living.

I love America because, in America, people are free to criticize government without fear of political consequence.

I love America because, in America, people are free to serve God and preach the gospel—and have done so since the founding.

I love America because God has blessed her so much and with so much, more than she deserves.

I love America because she stands in defense of Israel, even when no one else does.

I love America because even the poorest in this country are rich compared to the rich in many other countries.

I love America because of her founding. No other country was founded with such principled and reasoned intention—with the purpose and goal of being free.

I love America because she’s not based in a “class” mentality. Americans are all Americans—never permanently relegated to a specific societal class or caste.

I love America because the ordinary man or woman can accumulate great wealth.

I love America for her entrepreneurial spirit.

I love America because of her vibrant culture.

I love America because she accepts failure and sees it as a challenge.

I love America because in America, people fight to get back up, even when knocked down.

I love America because she’s the melting pot of the world, housing people from all cultures and countries and backgrounds—-unlike almost any other nation on earth.

I love America because of her checks and balances in government.

I love America because of her local communities, towns, cities and self-governance.

I love America because of her various, unique and individual states, brimming with culture and personality.

I love America because of the local, Mom and Pop shops, farms, churches, community centers, local political events, festivals and fairs.

I love America because of the respect and love of the law that has given the country 250 years of peaceful transitions of power and the longest enduring written Constitution ever.

I love American because, in America, rights are not given or earned, they are inherent.

I love America because the people do not serve the government, the government serves the people.

I love America because of what she stands for, fights for, and dies for: LIBERTY.

Conclusion

Is America perfect? No.

But is she worth loving? Always.

We’re so blessed to live in America, we don’t even realize what we have. We’ve been given SO much. And friends, I fear we are losing her. Because of America’s greatness, and the essence of what she is, her loss to the world, and to us, would be all the more tragic.

Let’s not lose her, friends. Remember what you have. Remember what you are fighting for. And remember this quote by Alexis de Tocqueville.
