Sacramento Truck found that the "Mega Fuse" was making intermittent connection causing the fault. Upon closer inspection they found the fuse was cracked and that the mounting bracket was vibrating excessively while the engine was running. They replaced the fuse and reinforced and secured the mounting bracket to eliminate the vibration. I know the SPN 729 fault code is commonly discussed so I thought it would be good to pass this fix along. Sacramento Truck Center is the best! __________________ Bob & Anna Hutting 2016 Entegra Anthem 44B 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited - FMCA #343990

| Bob Could you please describe more fully what the problem was that you were having. The SPN 729, FMI 3 or 4, amber notice, code translated to "Engine intake Air Heater 1 Circuit - Voltage below normal or shorted to low source". If you could explain more what that fuse is, where it is, and what was done to make it more stable, (Pic?) I would really appreciate it.. The engine cover in the bathroom floor had to be removed for access to the fuse. I have not seen what was done to the bracket or specifically where it is located. I would suggest contacting Spartan or Cummins for more detail. When I called Spartan, they said because it was an amber fault, I could drive the coach. There was no effect on the performance. __________________ Bob & Anna Hutting 2016 Entegra Anthem 44B 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited - FMCA #343990 | | |

The tech and I discussed and arrived at the theory that when starting, you turn on the ignition and the wait to start light comes on. This means that the pre-heater is generating heat into the intake manifold and drawing a lot of amperage. If you turn the key to turn over the engine before the wait light goes out you are then drawing more mega amps to the starter. It is possible that the fuse will not take this. Therefore be sure and wait till the wait to start light goes out before turning the engine over. I now also cycle the wait to start twice on cold mornings.. ie turn on light goes out turn off turn on wait till start light goes out then start engine. I have not had any trouble since then. My repair was accomplished at Sacramento Truck as well. They are the best. Fair winds and downhill grades... __________________ Gregg & Sandy, Penngrove, California 2016 Anthem 44B Victory Blue 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 2020 Ford Ranger 4X4 Lariat

Sacramento Truck Center has opened their new RV location. They are now at 171 Harris Ave. Sacramento, CA 95838. It is right behind the original location. __________________ Bob & Anna Hutting 2016 Entegra Anthem 44B 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited - FMCA #343990

Bit awkward to reach, but doable. As mentioned you have to gain access through the rear bath. I believe it is 250 amp and is available at most Napa’s. __________________ Tim F. 2022 Baystar 3014

| Well, this is very interesting.... I have known since my 15 Anthem that it was supposedly important for owners to wait for the amber outline of an engine icon on the dash to extinguish before trying to turn over the Cummins. However I have noticed that all the techs at Entegra or repair facilities and coach "valet" guys never wait for that delay. I have always thought that everyone that should know better (including Spartan and Cummins techs) does NOT wait for the delay and just presses engine start without waiting, so I started doing that also. ..... Now, I think that I am learning why it is proper to wait for the engine icon to go out..... that is the delay that is enabling the engine to heat to the point that the Cummins will start better. Hmmmmm, that makes perfect sense and adds an explanation to why that delay is good for starting. I have not generally been waiting for that icon to extinguish..... sometimes, but not all the time.... I will start doing that routinely. That is all new to me...... one more thing to go into the "Archive of files and information probably important at some time in the future". Thanks !! _____ Gary __________________ Gary and Dee, Zowie and Bowie (traveling cat sibs) 2019 Cornerstone 45B, X15-605hp, Imperial, Spartan K3, 2013 Honda CR-V toad, Demco Excali-Bar II, Demco Baseplate, Demco Toad Light system, 73 de W5FI | | |

Entegra Owners Club Join Date: May 2019 Posts: 985 | Gary, I believe i saw this posted a while back and I have done it ever since, go one step further and wait for all the lights to go out before starting. Just to be sure the gremlins haven't visited since you last shut it down. Typically the amber engine light will be the last one on and then disappears once started. __________________ Gary and Phyllis Small 2018 Anthem 44F 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited - Sahara 2003 Alegro Bus (sold)

It’s on the top right, or as you access it looking rear, it will be on your left towards the rear. At least as I recall on my 16 B. __________________ Tim F. 2022 Baystar 3014

Join Date: Nov 2019 Location: TEXAS Posts: 450 | I was able to get to the fuse through the rear engine compartment . Removed the exhaust tip and was able to squeeze in the cavity , tight fit but doable. Switched out the fuse , check engine still was on , but after i changed out the chassis battery the light went out .. i had not got around to clearing out the code due to travel schedule. __________________ 2014 Entegra Anthem DEQ 2020 Jeep Gladiator 2017 Indian RoadMaster
