I've been here several times before but it's been a while. One of my friends is a regular every few weeks so I wanted to come back. I got a gel pedicure and SNS manicure. My manicure looks immaculate! I will be back in a few weeks to try a different color!

They rushed us through so fast and no one else was in there. It wasn't relaxing at all. Barely scrubbed the bottom of my feet and did less that 1min of rubbing (I timed it). And because they were rushing... she cut my toe! Even a day later, it is burning and uncomfortable to walk or wear a closed toe shoe. My recommendation would be to slow down and try to give a more calm/relaxing experience which would likely reduce oops like this.

FAQs

How much should you get your nails done? ›

The Average Costs

Basic Manicure: around $20-$30 for a regular polish manicure, which includes shaping, cuticle care, hand massage, and nail polish application. Gel Manicure: typically costs between $30 to $50.

What are the strongest salon nails? ›

For the longest-lasting manicure, choose a gel or acrylic style. Gel nail polish is less likely to chip, and acrylic is even stronger than gel.

What questions should I ask at a nail salon? ›

You should also inquire about the nail technician's experience. Ask them how long they've been in the industry and what type of training they've received. A good technician will have years of experience and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the latest techniques and trends.

What to expect when you go to a nail salon? ›

“The nail tech will start off by soaking your hands in warm soapy water to soothe and soften dead skin cells,” Higuchi says. “Then, the nail tech will file and buff, clean the cuticle, and massage your hands with hand cream. Painting the base coat, color, and top coat is next, and then a cuticle oil is applied.”

How much do you tip for a $50 pedicure? ›

"For example, if your service costs $50, you should see it as costing $60." The widely accepted minimum tip in the industry is 15 percent, Kandalec says, but the most common tip at a nail salon is 20 percent. This is similar to what's expected when tipping at a hair salon, or for a massage or spa treatment.

How much should I tip for my nails? ›

Much like at restaurants and hair salons, the industry standard for tipping at the nail salon ranges around 15 to 20 percent, and it is generally recommended that if you've received extra services or specialty designs, a minimum of 20 percent is appreciated.

What type of nails look the best? ›

If you have short palms and short fingers, it's best to opt for rounded oval and almond shapes. For longer palms and fingers, consider dramatic stiletto or coffin (or ballerina) shaped styles. Almond shaped nails tend to suit everyone.

Which nails last the longest? ›

Gel nails typically last longer than regular polish, often up to two to three weeks without chipping. They provide a glossy and polished look that remains shiny for an extended period. Gel nails cure quickly under UV or LED light, reducing the risk of smudging compared to regular polish.

What is the most attractive nail? ›

Red conveys a direct attraction and is associated with sensuality and erotic interest. Black, one of the favorite colors, is considered particularly trendy and is therefore also associated with attractiveness.

What is a gel full set vs acrylic? ›

Acrylic nails have a more artificial look than gel nails and are often thicker and more opaque. On the other hand, gel nails have a more natural appearance; they are shiny and have a glossy finish. They look more like natural nails than acrylic nails.

What are nail tips vs acrylic? ›

Durability and long-lasting results: Full cover tips are known for their durability, making them a great choice for those who want long-lasting results. Unlike traditional acrylics, which can chip and lift easily, full cover tips are designed to stay in place and maintain their shape and appearance for weeks at a time.

What is dip vs acrylic? ›

Unlike acrylic nails, dip powder nails do not stop the natural growth of your nail and are less likely to cause damage to your nails. Most dip powders are also free from toxins, unlike some acrylic nail glues which contain toxins and chemicals that are harmful to your natural nail.

What is the best manicure for weak nails? ›

If you have weak or brittle nails, consider a regular or shellac manicure as they are less damaging. If longevity is a priority, opt for a gel or dip powder manicure. If you want to add length or dramatically change your nail shape, acrylics could be your best bet.

What is the least harmful nail treatment? ›

Overall, Dip Powder Manicures are a great way to get a healthy manicure that will protect and strengthen your nails without causing any damage. Just like any nail treatment, you do have to make sure you properly remove it to keep your nails safe and healthy – Don't pick at your manicure!

What is the healthiest way to get your nails done? ›

Artificial nails: Dermatologists' tips for reducing nail damage
  • Choose soak-off gel nails instead of acrylic nails. ...
  • Go to a salon that uses an LED curing light rather than a UV curing light. ...
  • Ask your nail technician to skip the cuticle trimming. ...
  • Reserve artificial nails for special occasions.

How often is normal to get your nails done? ›

To really reap the benefits of these services, professionals suggest getting a manicure and pedicure every two to three weeks to keep your nails in the best shape possible. Within this time frame, your nails and cuticles will begin to dry and grow jagged and most nail varnishes or coats will also begin to chip away.

How much do you spend to get your nails done? ›

The average cost for a basic manicure can range from $20 to $50, while a pedicure can set you back $30 to $60. Gel and acrylic options can increase these numbers, often reaching up to $70 or more. French and spa versions are generally the most expensive, sometimes costing over $100 for a full set.

Is $60 a lot for nails? ›

Acrylic nail prices can cost anywhere from $30 to $60 per design, depending on the complexity of the design and the number of colors used. Typically, long acrylic nails cost more than short acrylic nails simply because there's more room for the acrylic to cover. That's why acrylic manicures vary so greatly in price.

Is it worth it to get my nails done? ›

Getting your nails done can have a powerful effect on both your appearance and your overall sense of well-being. A polished, well-groomed set of nails can make your hands look more elegant and delicate, and can even make your fingers appear slimmer. But the benefits of a good manicure go far beyond just aesthetics.
